Things to do and see

The North York Civic Centre is a multipurpose facility that is a great spot for people who like aquatics and reading: the North York Central Library and the Douglas Snow Aquatic Center are located here as well. Mel Lastman Square is a public space that has an amphitheatre, a reflecting pool that can be used as a skating rink, a garden court and many wedding pavilions occur here also.

Willowdale is also home to arts and culture, with The Ford Center for the Performing Arts, also including the Art Gallery of North York, the Studio Theater, and the George Weston Recital Hall.

The Willowdale Lawn Bowling Club is a great place for some recreation. The Willowdale Park offers tennis courts and green space, which is great for some family time.

Nearby is the Yonge Street shopping district, which is the mecca for wining, dining, shopping and entertainment for the locals. Here, you can enjoy some of the world’s most authentic dishes. These include Italian, French, Greek, Japanese, Chinese and even Middle Eastern food. The locals also like to go to the food markets located along the street in order to buy fresh produce for cooking a comfortable meal back home.
